Organization of materials

This bibliography is organized according to
historical policy periods. The title of each
period represents the general approach taken by
the government in terms of administration and
treatment of offenders in the corrections
system. These materials include:

bibliography.

References may not refer directly to corrections
in British Columbia. However, they contribute
to understanding its development. Some
references are incomplete and access to archival
materials might be restricted.

The British Columbia Corrections History
Committee conducted interviews with Branch
personnel through video and audio recordings.
They are listed as follows:

Video recordings
The following personnel were first employed
with the Corrections Branch in the 1930s,
1940s, 1950s or 1960s. Some of these
individuals were involved in corrections at the
municipal level prior to joining the Branch.
These recordings can be located at the British
Columbia Corrections Archives or Justice
Institute of British Columbia.
