A second specialist regional manager was appointed in 2000, By the following year, the Family Justice Services Division was transferred to the Justice Services Branch of the Ministry of Attorney General. The provincial director of the Strategic Planning and Corporate Programs Division replaced three senior management positions: director, Program Analysis Section; director, Resource Analysis Section; and executive director, Management Services. Impact of reorganization on staff training Prior to the 1997 reorganization of the Branch, planning for training occurred from the bottom up through regional staff development officers (RSDOs). These officers consulted with staff in their regions to develop a list of training needs. The provincial training plan was developed through the provincial staff training committee. It consisted of the Director of the Corrections and Community Justice Division at the Justice Institute, and five regional RSDOs. Every year, this group developed a training needs analysis. It was then presented to senior Branch management. In most instances, the plan was approved or slightly modified.
