Abstract |
Abstract
Human trafficking in Canada remains a critical human rights issue which
disproportionately affects Indigenous women and girls due to colonial legacies,
economic marginalization, and systemic racism. This research will evaluate the National
Strategy to Combat Human Trafficking 2019-2024 (NSTCHT), focusing on its
effectiveness in addressing human trafficking among Indigenous girls and women,
particularly the role of social media in recruitment, exploitation, and trafficking
facilitation. A qualitative analysis was conducted, reviewing government reports,
academic literature, and statistical data to assess the implementation and impact of the
strategy. |
