              Dr. Karla Gronsdahl, is Dean of Child, Family and Community Studies at Douglas College. Prior to joining Douglas College, Dr. Gronsdahl held the position of program director for Youth Justice Services at the Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC), where she led a team that designed, developed and delivered online and classroom training for the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) in the areas of law, legislation, operational policy and procedures. 
Karla Gronsdahl began her distinguished career as a probation officer and family justice counsellor in northern B.C. and the Lower Mainland. She also worked in private practice as a counsellor for more than a decade.
Dr. Gronsdahl received a PhD in Criminology from Simon Fraser University. She holds a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Bastyr University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Saskatchewan.
