Tara has worked for BC Community Corrections as a Probation Officer since 2017. Prior to that, she was an English instructor with Liberal Studies at JIBC from 2009-2016. She has over 20 years of adult educational and training experience.
During her JIBC tenure, she also represented JIBC as a member of the English Articulation Committee from 2013-2016, acting as co-chair over 2016.
Tara completed her undergraduate studies from UBC and pursued a post-bachelor’s degree in Criminology from SFU. She then completed her Masters of Science through the University of Leicester with a focus on mental health consumers and the law. She was fortunate to have the opportunity to conduct her thesis research with the Police Academy of BC.
