Florence is a Program Manager and Sessional Faculty and works for the Centre for Teaching, Learning and Innovation (CTLI) at the Justice Institute of BC. In her role as an instructional designer she collaborates with program areas and divisions as they develop and redesign their courses and programs. She also works with faculty and staff in advancing and fostering professional growth in teaching and learning excellence and assist in promoting research, scholarship and supervision of students. Florence has an interdisciplinary background and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, a Postgraduate Certificate in Adult Education, and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA). Florence is interested in researching models for supporting faculty in their practice and different pedagogical approaches to learning designs for diverse learning environments - face-to-face, online and blended and supporting students learning and engagement using Open Education Resources (OER). One thing that she like about her job is the variety of projects that she gets to work on and the fact that there is never a dull moment. She works with a great and supportive team in CTLI and though the work can be challenging at times there is always the opportunity to learn, grow and make a difference.
