              Dr. Ron Bowles holds a B. Ed. in adult education, a Master’s degree in educational technology, and a PhD in Curriculum Studies, studying the development of clinical competence and clinical judgment in paramedic learners in immersive high fidelity simulation. 
He has worked, taught, developed curriculum and conducted research in paramedicine and public safety in Canada and Asia. He previously directed the curriculum
development group at the JIBC’s School of Health Science and has extensive experience in creating technology-supported distributed learning environments.
He is active in several initiatives for paramedics in Canada, including both the redesign of the Paramedic Association of Canada’s National Occupational Competency
Profile and the development of a Canadian EMS and Paramedic Research Network.
