Chernoff, Melanie

Melanie has worked at JIBC since 2012, first as a Systems Instructor for Probation and Custody staff and now as the Youth Justice Training Program Manager. Melanie was trained in 1998 at JIBC as a Youth Probation Officer and worked in the communities of Abbotsford and Surrey. Melanie has always been active in workplace wellness and JIBC has provided ample opportunity to increase this passion. Melanie is project manager of a staff development initiative called JIBC Live and a member of the Psychological Health and Safety Standard (PHSS) working group.

Through completion of a Master’s of Arts in Leadership program at Royal Roads University, Melanie was able to combine her passion for workplace wellness in a research project with JIBC to focus on how a culture of appreciation might be cultivated at JIBC.
